Our chapter has 3 full-time staff and 2 part-time
staff and relies heavily upon local volunteers to help with
the delivery of all Red Cross programs and services to the
community. As such we work side by side with our partners
in the community like AARP, DHS, SIUE, Lewis and Clark Community
College, High Schools and others to provide volunteer opportunities
for community service and internships for college credit.
Becoming involved with the American Red Cross
and continuing in its rich history of volunteerism in support
of its mission is vital to the success of each local chapter
serving local communities, and is relieant upon people helping
people in neighborhoods nationwide.

Disaster Relief and
Preparedness
Help chapter staff with making presentations
to schools, businesses, and community organizations on various
topics, respond to families displaced from their homes due
to single-family disasters, help train disaster volunteers
to respond to local disasters or at National Disaster Relief
Operations nationwide.
Services To The Armed
Forces
Learn how to bridge the gap of communication
between local families and their loved one(s)seving in the
U.S. Armed Forces, and stationed all over the world by becoming
a volunteer trained to do Services To the Armed Forces Casework.
Upon completing training this can be done at home or in
our office. A computer and access to AFES Web is required.
Health & Safety
Opportunites in this line of service include
teaching lifesaving programs such as CPR,.First Aid,Youth
Programs, Water Safety, Babysitter's Training, and more.
Additional opportunities are for inputing data on teaching
activity as course records are entered into the records
and reporting system.
Blood
Help promote local blood services to the community
by assisting with marketing of area blood drives.
Office
Working with staff learn how
to help with day to day office activities including basic
clerical, accounting, and maintenance of the facility.
